~~Dream~~ (Survivor Challenge 7)

The sun sets as night befalls Yielding to the power of fantasy The stars behind my closed eyelids Become translucent figures Melting together in fluid waltzes As my subconscious gives birth to dreams Droplets of crystals weave throughout In an enchanted dance of the stars While sapphire lightening bolts Shoot daggers of brilliance behind my eyes Giving way to lavender imagination Within the deepest contours of my mind I am light as a feather As I float within this alternate reality Drifting into the gentle grip of my vision As it appears before me Cloaked in the silver garments of my reverie Motioning for me to enter I submerge myself into this paradise This UNreality I have so lovingly designed As I bow before the Dream Goddess And she unravels striking hallucinations Draped in golden fancies Gifted unto me, the creator of this world She spins glorious tales of my aspiration Into her silken web of dreams So that I may find solace in slumber And heed the hidden messages Invoked by my own intuition And summoned to call upon me I glide with faultless ease Within this city of untainted sensations Tasting the rainbows’ arches As it drips saccharine juices upon my parched soul And moistens the lips of my discontented spirit So that I may emerge fresh into reality Distant sounds ring out from the world beyond As I struggle to remain in this realm Pleading to the Dream Goddess to bequeath one more gift Upon my weary and beleaguered mind As I watch with immense regret Her stature vanishes into the opaque fog I watch my world swiftly contract As the colors give way to dark shades of nothing And I begin my descent to the truth of actuality As the sun rises and day has arrived My eyelids flutter open My awakening becomes The last breath of my dreamWell, this is one of my favs I think ;o) Written April 5th, 2002 © on Apr 05 2002 08:59 AM PST   0 • 10
