Escape The Program (survivor challenge 11)
By Slekky
The purity of innocence Gripped within the icy clutch of society Held tight in the sweaty palms Of corrupt minds And greedy hearts Who wish to slaughter the virtue That thrives within the unsullied child The child screams for the food of knowledge But he is fed with lies and half truths instead Force fed until he is sick with it And he regurgitates those lies from his own lips As he becomes mal nourished of truth Dehydrated of integrity Born without a chance The program has long been writ The babe is ripped from mother’s protection And thrown into the vortex of the cold world That is filled with the frozen hearts of lost children Who have already breathed the program in The child’s veracity is viciously torn from him And replaced with avarice As the internal bleeding Goes unnoticed And untreated Until he is drained of all he was born with Until he is deprived of himself He begins to crave the program Like a drug Hungering for the high He begins to live the program Like a disease Until the deceit becomes his truth Mother strives to break the code To keep him nourished with honest dignity She tries to re-write the program That has been forced upon her son But the task seems unfeasible As so many others promote the program That she slaved so hard to break free from The blood that she shed Is still dried upon her hands And now she vows She will shed the sordid blood of her own son And pervade him with the crimson richness That is the blood of hope Mother will fight for her child As she disables the program Piece by piece She garnishes the abominations with Devotion Tenderness And self worth And the child savors the flavor Tasting life for the first time Until he begins to yearn for it He slowly arises from within himself As he pries the bitter grip of society From his throat And he escapes their clammy clutches He seizes His innocence……….. stained but NOT lostAlot of metaphors and similes :o) This picture REALLY spoke to me......and this is what came out.
