Her Dark Angel (Survivor Challenge 3)

By Slekky

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

As the blackened sky spewed fire upon the earth she knew not where to turn she knew not who to follow she only knew that she was drawn somewhere in the opposite direction of the others The tormented screams of the towns people became faint as she ran aimlessly to her destination stifling the screams which welled in her breast as she felt the fingers of lonely despair run down her spine Burning tears ran down her cheeks as the intensity of her fear consumed her the screams of the children rang through her ears as she struggled with the guilt of abandoning them The force that had summoned her was becoming fiercely powerful as if she could not resist it's calling she could taste it she could smell it she could feel it infiltrating her body as she raced to reach it's home There he stood with arms outstretched beckoning her to enter the shelter of his embrace she ran to him and took refuge in his strength as he encircled her waist with a single arm Within the protection of his grip, she relaxed and offered her trust to this stranger as she settled within his arms and watched the destruction of her home He held her tight and whispered solace into her ears while she clung to his chest hoping for sanctuary within his wings and she surrendered herself to this dark angel giving herself for his fortification He felt her relax within his arms and his eyes darkened with prupose as he covered her small hand in his and led her away from the town's destruction As they grew closer to his dwelling he no longer hid his excitement and with a wicked grin he invited her to enter The stranger knew his power of the woman's mind would soon be washed out so he quickly laid her upon the cushioned table and began his urgent mantra Her hazy mind began to clear up and as she gazed at her dark angel she recognized a demon instead She tried to scream but her voice had deserted her as terror saturated her soul His mantra was completed The knife plunged into her chest Her eyes looked to the Heavens for reassurance as her heart slowed, and soon became dead The Virgin was sacraficed! Her Dark Angel rejoiced!Hmmmm, well I really tried! Written April 1st, 2002 © on Apr 01 2002 02:34 AM PST   0 • 10
