Set Your Spirit Free (Survivor Challenge 6)

By Slekky

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The frosted moonlight Beckons this Lady of the night The voice of the breeze Calls to her in faint whispers “Set your spirit free” As the velvet zephyrs Besiege her supple body And blows icy kisses within her The night strokes her sleek skin With its sinuous, liquid fingers She becomes consumed with yearning And obsession runs through her In waves of cerulean electricity And she succumbs to the summons of the hour “Set your spirit free” Unwilling to defy the passion within She steps into the shadows And allows nature to enfold her In its vast embrace She is drawn to a place Etched within her memory A place only visited in daydreams Or within her feverish fantasies She stares in awe As she recognizes her surroundings A place she deemed Only dwelled within her own mind Whispers upon the wind Implore her in melodious tones “Set your spirit free” She strips the clothing That binds her body And invites the Moon God To dress her in the suede fabric of star dust She begins her release As she bares her flesh To her savior of the night And she treads closer to him Climbing the branches of the tallest tree Again she is greeted This time in the songs of the lost souls “Set your spirit free” Lady midnight cries in sorrow As her frozen teardrops Form diamonds upon the forest floor And her body shakes With the sobs of ten thousand nights Kept locked within her until this moment in time She begs for restitution Asks forgiveness for sins of the heart She pleads to the moon for absolution And she welcomes the beams to drench her In fervent, emotional hunger Her soul flies in liberation As she releases the torture That once scorched her scarred and bleeding heart And kept it locked in chains of despair She begins to shed self-inflicted blame And open her eyes to the splendor That saturates her essence She hears the voices Rejoicing in her emancipation As she sends her unwavering love Upon the wings of the wind To the youngest angel Her child who was given wings too early She remembers his smile Shooting sunshine to her soul She remembers his laughter Singing sweet songs to her heart And she remembers his death When desolation became her worst enemy And her closest friend She finally bids her son goodbye As euphoria infiltrates her soul At the delivery of her own guilt One last tear runs down her cheek As it engraves itself upon her face To forever remain as a constant reminder Of her tiny angel And the day Of her joyous enlightenment The day she Set her spirit free!I really tried, please bear with me......I'm sick :o( Written April 4th, 2002 © on Apr 04 2002 05:08 AM PST   0 • 10
