Remember when… Spending the evening counting stars and imagining what it was like on the moon Staying up till the wee hours of the morning writing poetry together Your sweet lips caressing mine and nothing else in the world mattering Writing notes back and forth in class talking about the latest gossip Pillow fights and camping out under the covers Sneaking out and risking being grounded for life just to be with one another The times where we would just sit by the fire, cuddling with each other Watching movies and falling asleep in each other’s arms Dusting off old LPs of Marvin Gaye and reminiscing on how beautiful his music was Trips to the beach building sandcastles and digging our toes into the sand Taking long walks hand in hand even in the worst weather Staring into your glistening eyes and reading them as if they had written something My one love My best friend I love you unconditionally Alwayssomewhat inspired by my friend brooke's poem on her perfect date only my poem is written in the perspective of someday looking back on the lifelong friendship shared with the love of my life Written February 12th, 2002 © on Feb 11 2002 04:59 PM PST 18 • 0 • 8
