Nocturne to her ebon eyes
By solange
I saw the sun one morning It smiled and seemed to say Why do you shield your eyes as you go on your way Do you not gaze longingly toward the rising moon? Do thoughts of falling stars send your heart to swoon I humbly replied pray do not plague me so the reason to display For love rides on wings of fantasy till stolen by the day All night my mind is free to dream My memory strolls along a running silvered stream Once I knew a gentle girl with eyes of ebon black Only in the dark of night will ever she be seen In dreams we walked in fields of stars two lovers hand in hand She walked along beside me Sweet scented was her hair I heard her pleasing voice float lightly in the air She seemed to fade as each star grows dim at dawn And slips back into my memory as silent as a fawn Written October 3rd, 2001 © on Oct 03 2001 03:25 AM PST 10 • 0 • 8
