The Old Time Way
By Sonshyne
I visited my friends church on Sunday, They were doing things the old time way. I looked at the program, and it read, OLD LANDMARKDAY. Overalls covered men everywhere, Ladies wore long dresses, aprons, and bonnets on thier hair. The choir sang accupella, they had beautiful harmony. The service was exhilaration. I wondered if everyone Felt that way, or was it just me. Pastor Jackson preached with such clarity, The picture he painted was so plain, even a child could see. After the sermon ended, The invitation was extended. A lady and man stood to testify. There were people with handkerchiefs wiping Tears from thier eye. After service was over I said hello to everyone I knew, Then I told my kids, let's go, I believe were through. Written February 21st, 2002 © on Feb 21 2002 03:05 AM PST 0 • 13
