'Heartache'
By Southern Pen
The room was dark, And all was quiet. The covers ruffled, Then lay still. Beneath the softness, Lay a girl of twenty. Whose heart was broken, By a boy too soon. A sniffle was heard, The sucking of a lip. A twitch of an arm, And a sigh of pain. All was quiet, Save these tiny sounds. For she was alone, Seemed no one cared. Then light flowed, Into her room of sorrow. Covers were pulled back, And arms reached out. Words full of comfort, From the darkness were spoken. "It will be all right," Is all that was said. The girl knew, These words were true. For it was her Mother, Who spoke with love. Written August 11th, 2000 © on Oct 15 2001 01:24 AM PST 10 • 0
