Outside the Universe
By Sprite
Under the deepening orange glow Of wild fires on the moon, The solemn image is cast upon This beautiful earthen home. Above moon and clouds crowning, Higher than a man can see, A visual melody of noted stars Shine on precious invisibility. Outside the ether of senses' reach, In the air-starved atmosphere, Energy's stunning filtered light Transcends matter death found here. And inside milky waves Of galaxies outside our scope, Praying mantis natives sleep Waiting for us to awake... We soul mates universally twined, Connected by the golden rope from Which we both have sprung, whirligigs Yearning to reach and touch the wind. We stretch our mental eyes to perceive The enigmatic sights of the eternal, As we beg His mercy and reprieve From the depth of our own failures. Looking up into the purple span of sky, We dream of sights above us while, Playing with our math and science, We attempt to find the unseen mystery divine. But those unscientific truths Resides outside of the known universe, Outside our earthly senses' reach, Beyond physical detection. Past seeing But not past knowing.Decided that this needed some editing! I reworked it quite a bit in spots. Written April 4th, 2002 © on Jan 08 2003 04:44 PM PST, Joyce 18 • 0 • 13
