~~~ Let My Spirit Soar~~~
Through a forest of pine and oak I wander On this peace-seeking journey I advance In quest of a place of solitude Where my soul and spirit will dance This trail is overgrown with bramble Fallen timbers now block the way Foliage green and lush shield the sunlight Casing shadows on the beaten clay Before me the forest opens Panoramic is this magnificent view Tranquil waters lay before me   My hopes now kindled anew Wavelets lap at the shoreline Playing tag with the feeding birds They dance to the rhythm of nature To a song only they have heard I kneel at the edge of the water Arms spread in devoted esteem Offering my prayer of thanksgiving For the beauteous things I have seen As I pray my soul is nourished And my heart feels light once more For the Gods of the lake have blessed me They Let My Spirit Soar….
