The Passage of life
By StrmDncr
I walk a long lonely corridor Searching in the fading light Too many doors to choose So quickly losing sight Controlling the chaos inside me Keeping it tightly reined It slips through my fingers bit by bit While another step is gained Each door is numbered different Still looking all the same I try a knob, it's locked I fall back one step again My eyes search the distance It goes on forever in my mind I reach for another knob My God I'm losing time The metal turns in my fingers Light breaks through the crack Another hallway in time Should I go through or go back This choice I know is mine to make A brave soul I'll have be To walk through this new portal To find what waits for me In life we all have choices We all must make our own I pray I make my wisely Then I'll be happy to be going home Written November 14th, 2001 © on Nov 14 2001 10:27 AM PST, Pat Williams 0 • 10
