Words are not enough
By StrmDncr
I can see from the comments so far that I need to include this note. This poem was written for a group of auto techs who work with me. It was part of a bet. I bet them I could make them laugh with a love poem. If they laughed, each man had to buy me lunch. I ate free lunch for nearly a month... I hope you get a chuckle as well... Words are not enough... Over the centuries man has tried to find the words for what's inside The ones that have just the right meaning to express his passions deepest feelings Saying 'I love You' comes easy to some But is it enough for that special one I say I love you a thousand times or more But how do I know, how can I be sure Do you truly know what I'm trying to say Do you even feel the same way Is there a word that I should invent So that you will know just what I meant I open my heart and give it to you But is there something more I can do A word, a phrase, please give me a clue Something that says I truly love you I could say, you're every breath that I take That I think of you every moment I'm awake Do you understand that I don't want to hide This feeling I have deep down inside Not Byron, Keats, or even Shakespeare have written the words I want you to hear The words I have, I've used before The ones that say, I want you and more So I'll say it again and hope that you know That I want you more, I want you so I want you to know you're not just a toy What I want to say is Ride me Cowboy!
