Writing, without some cliché is difficultPeople often do not perceive the resultWhen writing poetry for this critiqueThe lack of the “positive”, seems quite bleakI discovered the oddest word, “cliché”.It seems to be so overused when they sayYour poems are full of clichés, my perceptionsAre, they practice many other types of deceptionsWhen they say, cliché we must never argue,Or, here is the next step they will pursue,To send you “outside” and your poems are banishedNext time you look your works have vanishedThe ones in “say so” practice personal issuesSelect certain rogues whom they do abuseOne wonders where they got their credentialsOr who gave them the bare or bear essentials My questions are much more elementaryWhy? People, have power, abuse is rudimentaryDid they go to the school of acting rude,That august academy of Bad Attitude? Since I have happened to disagreeI am afraid of what will happen to meI am sure that I will go outside, be banishedLooking around find my works have vanishedThe one thing that I really fearIs, will I also start to disappear? Will my persona just fade awayOr will they god-like, allow me to stayHmmm, is that another dicey cliché?                                Here there is the really sad thing to say Though is the terrible overuse of cliché.One wonders where they learned to spell “it”,Much less the word they all say… cliché.
