Haunted Ballroom
By Sweeetsuz
Faded photographs, yellowed with age; Frozen moments from another time. Timeless as stopped, another page, Lives, caught in an endless rhyme. Strains of melody softly ringing, Tinkle's of ones laughter's refrain. Hint's of voices, someone singing, Happier days, than these remain. Graceful dancers, a swish of skirt, Lovers, eerily floating, dancing. Curtsey, bowing, an eye to flirt, Long evenings of forgotten romancing. Lovely columns, glowing candles Wonderful songs from yesteryears, Graceful sconces, forgotten scandals Past beauties, shedding musty tears. Fading memories glowing from ages, Frozen glories from time. Timeless when stopped, more new stages. A beauty, frozen with rhyme. Haunted ballrooms will always remain, Filled with the passages of time Memories of past lives refrains, Touching, whispering, gracefully sublime Written July 4th, 2001 © on Jul 03 2001 04:49 PM PST 0 • 10
