Sunshine
By Sweeetsuz
Sunshine peeked through the clouds sweeping open places in the sky, showing the Sierra’s blanketed with the winter’s mantle of fluffy white. The panoramic majestic beauty reminding me why I love living here! Starkly naked black tree fingers, tracing beautiful definitions thru greening fields. A man came here one fall, from a place with more rainfall, he commented, catching this place resting from the enormous bounty she usually provides, how ugly she looked all brown, and yes resting, from the normal cornucopia of plenty which springs forth. I smiled at him tolerantly knowing, He would never understand. I sent him back to where the trees are only leafless in the snow, but plenty does not grow. Raindrops pound the streets, awash, with lakes standing in fields promising waters to feed masses again. Today sunshine, peeked thru, winds chased some open spaces, through the firmament to reveal the beauty of the heights across the greening fields to glistening white parapets and I wonder if you are looking down over me?
