The Dandelion
By Sweeetsuz
The lowly Dandelion is just a weed, a pest to most; She peeks her little yellow head up everywhere; In a while she erects her fairy seedling stalk; A breeze or a passerby, her children take flight. My baby granddaughter calls them wish flowers; To make your wish, you blow the gossamer seeds. The baby wishes for her mommy and daddy; Mommy does drugs and daddy hurts she and her brother. She and her little brother stay with Grandma to be safe; She blows her fairy wish flowers and hopes; Grandma has a lot of dandelions in her garden; Little boys and girls need to believe in magic. Grandma calls them wish flowers too, now; The pretty yellow eyes will always have a home; Years, there will be Dandelions in Grandmas yard. We do not understand but we hope. © on Jun 24 2001 02:09 PM PST 0 • 10
