Invisible Woman

By sweetbrother

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I see her only as words on a screen and in that guise she is sultry, and mesmerizing She invites me to ride with her on the unfettered mustangs of her imagination through the fields and forests of her dreams to a secret garden she's created to serve as our playground She's captivated by words on a screen that come from me- the only part of me she's known- and now she seeks to find all the hidden parts of me In dreams shared with me she places me on her back porch sharing glasses of sweet tea or among her silken sheets sharing reckless passion She might recoil at the harsh reality of where I spend my nights but in the gauzy world we share reality's not needed or desired Our love is shared through those words on a screen and in the place where we dance together we are content, if our faces remain unseen and I can drift away in sleep on those chilly nights still feeling the heat of the kisses bestowed on me by an invisible woman Written November 2nd, 2001 © on Nov 02 2001 02:02 AM PST   0 • 10
