As julie sits on the porch swing staring out into her beautiful backyard, she thinks about the smells of the clean, crisp air, and the wild roses with the sweet smell of irises on this gloomy day. She moves silently to the grass and sits there as a tear trickles down her face and falls onto the petal of a reddish-pink rose. As she watches it fall, she pulls from the pages of her journal, a picture of her mom holding her as a newborn. Another tear trickles down. She turns her head slowly as she hears a car pull onto the gravel driveway of her family's summer house. As she sits there quietly trying to dry her tears and put on a a meak smile, her dad calls her name," Julie time to go." Written December 4th, 2001 © on Dec 04 2001 09:45 AM PST   18 • 0 • 1
