Underneath the Lights

This is my escape,I escape into the nights. When there's nowhere else to go, I disappear under the neon lights. When I'm underneath the lights, the lights are all they see. I am anything anyone wants me to be because they don't know me. This is my hideaway, where I hide away my fears. Underneath the spotlight you can't even see my tears. There is one place I can go when you are too hard on me. Underneath the bright lights where everyone can see. No one can hurt me because I run the show. They only see what's on the outside and that's all they'll ever know. Maybe I'll call it running into the arms of the night. But it hides away the pain as long as the lights are bright.
