Raped by the darkness She silently cries Keeping her fears Hidden inside She looks straight ahead Emotionless stare Not showing him How much she is scared Raped by the darkness She wants to be free He doesn't know it She won't let him see She lets him in Night after night To be raped again She can't make it right Raped by the darkness She silently cries She's convincing herself With all of her lies Someday she'll leave him But not quite yet For she still thinks It's as good as it gets Raped by the darkness She crawls away Looking for safety For all time, to stay She realizes now That she was so wrong To stay with the darkness That muted her song Raped by the darkness She'll no longer be She can sing again For now she is free Written April 1st, 2002 © on Apr 01 2002 06:53 AM PST, Shayla Carter   18 • 0 • 12
