She waited by the phone through endless, endless hours she waited day and night for just a word from him she loved occasionally, a call would come a quick "I love you" then again she waits, and waits and waits, and waits then one day, a letter came "I fear this last battle will be the last for me in this brief letter I want to say how happy you made me for the brief time I was in your arms I will be able to sleep forever with a smile" then the phone rang, and she knew instantly he was gone she whispered through her tears "You made me happy too"I don't remember the reason I wrote this, must have been a soldier that died in Afghanistan in December.
