England in Florida

England in Florida Today i heard the call of doves — (so unexpected this fine morn) and smiled at memories — fading some — A quiet English garden — Dawn. The same blue skies and leafy trees, a squirrel — grey and scurrying. That restful calm of starting day before the world starts hurrying. "The world is shrinking..." — Is this true? Perhaps just in our modern minds — illusions of our modern ways. A stranger view this traveller finds. Like two lives lived in parallel, for if i close my eyes and stare, my mind's eyes view of now and then persuade me i am here and there. i love this land — this old new-world — so different and the same to me.
