Like Beautiful
By violetfyre
Beautiful is not a word. It is a flattery, a cleverly crafted lie. Such a gathering of letters To draw smiles and sweet kisses From pale-faced girls who have yet To see the backseat of a Camaro. Beautiful is not a word, But a trick to draw her in. A key so easily obtained. Like "I love you," it's a shortcut To the promised land-- A woman's heart, a girl's bed. Beautiful is not a word. It's a mockery of love. Like roses, it is wasted As it strikes my stubborn ears And shatters, like hearts, Like the world I've gone numb to. **I could really use help with this. I loved the first stanza, and then everything kinda fell apart in the second and third. Any suggestions you guys might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks tons. ** Written January 16th, 2002 © on Jan 15 2002 04:05 PM PST 18 • 0 • 10
