Counting Costs
By vrsmulator
(Luke 14:28) Teach me the value of my cross, Teach me the virtue of my thorn - Lord, oft' I thank you for your own, Yet praise departs when I am torn. Instruct my heart now tear by tear, Reminding me of each your own; How, drop by drop, your love did yearn, And how by blood your peace was sown. Lord, I've counted costs like bargains, Charging desires against your pain; Never chasing, never daring Greater works for the Kingdom's gain. Enlarge the boarders of my heart And send the Word to fallow ground; Breaking up the doubt filled places, Crushing to dust all idols found; Grant me Burden's faithful stuards - Peace in the midst of ev'ry storm; Teach me the value of my cross, Teach me the virtue of my thorn.
