The Last 'Our Father'

By vrsmulator

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Our Father of - the turning wheels - Years within - and days without, Spread your glory - through the four winds - Light'nig fast - and with a shout. Your Kingdom come - with Will redressed - In the valley - of death's test; Canaan can - rebuild again - And saints - with vigor rest. Give us this day - the Early Rain - The Latter - then the Harvest; Perform all your words - in one day - No longer planting patience. And -lead us not - by the viper's nest - Nor near - the spider's web: 'Stead, hold our chin - and kiss our brow - When the Beast - his ax - does wet. For - your kingdom is - our reward - Your Glory - is our hope, Your power is - eternal life - Eternity - our scope. Written December 4th, 2001 © on Dec 04 2001 03:23 AM PST   0 • 5
