Virtual Happiness

By walkersway

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I walked out of the clouds of unreality, and wake up happy. The shine of the plastic people has worn off. Why did I return there? I ask unscolding. This pleasure dome, for six hours a week, offers the illusion of escape but is in reality a prison. As you enter this den, your eyes glaze over. You become drunk to the vileness beneath. You heart beats in time to the rhythm. Until you move as one Until everyone moves as one Until everyone thinks as one Everyone is one.Can a pill offer true escape?
