Rod Stewart - You Were Wrong
By WaryDreamer
I hate to tell you this, my friend but I've heard you sing that song Where "The first cut is the deepest" and you've got the words all wrong. My first love? It WAS special; and it's true, we joined our hands, But this one just absorbed my heart as we played out in the sands. Although the loss of any love cuts the marrow of our soul, When mine walked away from me, it left a great big hole. No, it's not a tiny cut, my friend, but an enormous void I feel, Regardless of the time that's passed it just hasn't seemed to heal. Why, on the surface, I look just fine and I'm sure I'd be "approved," But it's not obviously apparent that my heart has been removed. Perhaps one day I'll find someone who'll bandage up my wound, But today, next week, or 100 years will probably be too soon. Yes, Someday in the worlds to come Someone will surely come along, But just to set the record straight, Mr. Stewart...you were wrong. m Written October 23rd, 2001 © on Oct 23 2001 01:36 AM PST 10 • 0
