The Dilemma
By WaryDreamer
There are so many things I've wanted you to hear And just as many reasons for me to make them clear. I had grown so comfortable putting you in my dreams ~ When suddenly, I shuddered with the opposite extremes. You were no longer present ~ here, to hold my hand, Nor were you even close enough to nod, or understand. There were things I had to tell you; things I had to say... But you couldn't hear me. You were miles and miles away. With every passing moment, I struggled to regain A host of pleasant memories to block out all the pain. I was giving up your love...trying to start anew ~ But almost every thought I had contained a part of you. Then late one night you called me, with sorrow on your mind. The gentleness was in your voice. The words you spoke were kind. Having you come back again into my life that day Was more than I had hoped could every pass my way. You called again two nights ago and asked how it would be, If it could somehow be arranged for you to move in here with me. I don't know what to tell you! I don't know what to say... I'm afraid you've changed your mind and scared yourself away! If that's the thought you're facing, you needn't be abrupt. Regardless of the outcome, I'm glad you brought it up! You're just as free as I am to bend or change your mind. I could be hard to live with is one thing you might find. The final choice is not just "mine," but one we have to make. I want to talk it over...we have too much at stake. This won't have to be decided within a day or two. We don't face a deadline as in other things we do. How we feel tomorrow may be different from today, So if we want to choose again, let's provide us with a way. It might be with a contest, if somehow we could meet; Then someway we'd determine WHO has the coldest feet! mMarch, 1987 ...and NO...he didn't move in. ***smile*** Written November 15th, 2001 © on Nov 15 2001 01:35 PM PST 0 • 8
