The Door
By WaryDreamer
When you left and the door closed behind you, it didn't lock me in. I've returned there several times ~ just to check on it. It's still closed ...and unlocked. Sometimes I opened it ever so slightly ~ to peek on the other side ~ but you were never there. An air of sadness would drift through the opening and settle around my spirit; But the panic didn't filter through with it And so far, it hasn't found me again. mDecember 1987 -- Second in a set of 3 poems August 1987 - The Closing April 1988 - The Locked Door Written November 28th, 2001 © on Nov 27 2001 05:03 PM PST 0 • 12
