You're One of My Heroes
By WaryDreamer
Heroes aren't always popular nor well-received by the powers that be. Heroes aren't always recognized nor honored by their community. Our heroes stand for something the rest of us may never attain, And our heroes hold the secret for those things we want to gain. Being a hero isn't easy because it takes such a sacrifice. Heroes give of themselves and give of themselves so we can live in a world that's nice. Heroes don't always receive the honors they're entitled to for their deeds. The rest of us owe them our comforts, because they take care of our needs. No...real heroes aren't always recognized nor do they receive the acclaim For everyday tasks they perform at length in anonymity -- not expecting any fame. Yes, heroes may sometimes be unsung and have flags that are never unfurled. True heroes are the ones among us who make a difference and change our world. Real heroes are people who do their job and hold for whatever's right. Real heroes are people like you, who stand and won't back down from a fight. Thanks for being who you are... ...and setting examples for the rest of us. mNovember '99 Sometimes, we are lucky enough to work for a boss who brings out the best in all of us, who fights our battles, and never expects anything in return except the best job we can do. I'm glad I had the opportunity to work for/with this man. Every one benefitted from the experience. (...and, Yes Sir, I changed a few words, attempting to make it just a bit better. **smile**) m Written December 14th, 2001 © on Dec 13 2001 03:46 PM PST 0 • 9
