Questions For Mary

By Whisper Mckee

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Did you and the angels smile, When you looked into the face of your child? Did your heart overflow with joy, As you held that small baby boy? Did you hear the angels sing on high? Did you see the hope of the world in your baby's eyes? As Shepards and kings bowed to your son, In your mother's heart did you fear what was to come? As his star stood boldly in that long ago night, Did you know you were looking at the worlds saving light? Did just for a moment envision his blood stained hands? With a mothers love did you see the path he'd walk as a man. To save the world from the time of Adam such a great loss, Did you see that dark walk that ended at the cross? I know you understood it even from the time of his birth. That for awhile God would walk with us upon the earth. Yes, much that night I think you were meant to see. Your son, but also Gods, who would bring eternal life to you and me. Written December 6th, 2001 © on Dec 06 2001 08:39 AM PST, Phyllis Thompson   18 • 0 • 13
