Goodbye Avalon, Goodbye My Friend

Goodbye Avalon So long my friend What a race you ran Right to the end. Magnificent grey You were are sight to see Then as age crept on We set you free. Days of racing over The paddocks you roamed Then a call from me Would bring you home. Often I would watch As alone you would race  I guess memories of your victories Your age would replace. With your gentle ways And loving heart I knew someday Avalon We would have to part. Your gone now old friend Life wont be quite the same But where ever you are You’ll race once more to fame. Dedicated to my Beautiful Old ex race horse Avalon Who lost the battle today At the grand old age of 23yrs Written March 21st, 2002 © on Mar 20 2002 11:35 PM PST   0 • 1
