Walls of Separation
She built walls of doubt and confusion around herself. Brick after brick plastered together by fear and indecision. Slow and determined I scraped with love and compassion, chipping away years of mistrust and pain. I see her lovely face as a mop of tears sweeps lines down her dust covered cheeks. A silent weep barely escapes her pouty lips as I blanket her in my arms and taste the salt on my tongue from her kiss. I rock her gently telling her everything will be fine and silently hoping to convince myself. Written March 13th, 2002 © on Mar 12 2002 11:16 PM PST 10 • 0 • 12
