I Know You by Your Poetry I know you by your poetry The soft and silken phrase It touches every part of me In most enchanting ways It lifts from off the written page And settles in my ear Abandoning all time and age In phrases soft and dear You fill my chalice with life’s wine I savor every sip It leaves a taste of lyric chime To tingle on my lip For never did such succulence Exude from lyric word Never has a sweeter song been sung By beauteous bird Never did such dulcet tunes Dance on the morning dew Dear poet, you have touched my heart, And I’m in love with you Written February 26th, 2002 © on Feb 26 2002 01:21 AM PST   0 • 10
