To My Friend

By YVenom

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

This goes out to a friend of mine Whose life is not going very fine. Disillusionment has struck her very early, And it's dealt her a mighty blow. Will she make it through this time, I just don't know. So through this I beseech her And hope it gets through before another tragedy can teach her. Here's hoping it will reach her, and giver her hope. So here it goes: I know this life has its share of troubles, And the pain it can cause often doubles. But don't give up if life knocks you down, Get right back up. I compare you to a rose You both have beauty, and it shows. But you both also have thorns Your violent fighting spirit are yours. Let your beauty shine on through And you will blossom, too. This I promise you, for sure. Now this goes out to my friend Your life is yet to be at an end. And I hope that you will listen Before my words finish. To my friend, to my friend that's going through strife Your life is just beginning, you have yet to live your life. Don't give up hope, cause you're just starting out. To my friend, to my friend There are ups and downs, that's what life's all about. And in the face of tragedy, you'll always have a friend Cause you'll always have me. Your life is just beginning, young rose, so please don't give up yet. God has something great planned for your life, this I bet. Why give up so soon? Just because life isn't going so good? Let's face the facts, my lady, that's just the way it is. You have your ups and your downs, your happiness and your tears, Your anger, your dreams, and your fears. You must make your choice now. Are you gonna let life get you down? Or are you gonna rise up and show it That life still burns bright within you And that your flame will stay lit. Cause when I look into your eyes I can still see that spark of life. Oh, girl, just don't let it die out. Now this goes out to my friend. Your life is yet to be at an end. And I hope that you will listen Before my words are finishing. To my friend, to my friend that's going through strife Your life is just beginning, you have yet to live your life. Don't give up hope, cause you're just starting out. To my friend, to my friend There are ups and downs, that's what life's all about. And in the face of tragedy, you'l always have a friend Cause you'll always have me.Written April 3rd, 2000 © on Mar 16 2002 05:07 AM PST   lyrics • spiritual
