Arrows Fallen
By 1stpoet
Arrows Fallen (in memory of Jane) Jane married an abusive man, and I lost a friend. Hand in hand you walked down the aisle then that love turned so vile smiling as you became bride and groom then pots and pans flew across the room forever and ever were the words you said then your only escape was to be dead when asked the question, you said I do then the colors of love became black and blue Cupid’s arrows shot to your heart that was how you got your start now to the ground fallen, the tips…Shattered each day beaten, tortured, Battered there were the excuses you made up I fell off the stool while getting a cup or I ran into the stove while baking a pie that is how I got this ugly black eye when at one time you and I could share a laugh now I see a life fallen, a broken shaft William S.
