Brown Eyes (Sad but True)
By 1stpoet
Brown Eyes I remember the look in those eyes when after two years apart you caught me by surprise on a drive I was that day I passed your house, you waved and asked me to stay at one time those eyes were sweet a rich chocolate that would melt me but this time I should have taken retreat for those eyes held despair broke and loveless you were yet I was captured by your scent in the air fine perfumes blinded my eyes tears of seeing you again flowed freely, and I heard your sighs now three months after the I do’s what was not seen in brown eyes has given me the blues I was the hope of rescue you had a job, insurance…help around the house but you treat me so bad, not like a spouse I would be willing to do anything if only I would hear the words “I love you” you only say you were desperate, and I was again a mistake your heart is cold and your touch has put an ice jam in my river of love jagged shards cut my soul with every heartbeat when we are together 2 more weeks until I again will be apart from you papers signed and delivered will I ever again be able to look at brown eyes or will I think of you…and the pain.
