Cry Wolf
By 1stpoet
Cry Wolf It was high noon that Friday the first one of the month like clockwork the civil defense sirens blared commuters and the like housewives, bankers and such acting as if nobody cared they were used to this drill the electronic trill that was meant to be a check but none realized that out of the skies a storm their lives would wreck the clouds appeared as bread mold an ominous green, blue-black shade from which a funnel would soon unfold but just like before when those sirens would roar in bliss the thoughts were ignored it was like crying wolf you see for in complacency many went about their lives not knowing per-say this would be the day some lost friends, children or wives So during the drill the storm came at will and caused such a demise the next time I hear the wail I will without fail turn my eyes upon the skies May 15, 2001 © Copyright 2001 1st Poet Inc.
