Elements

Elements I opened my hand to you, and held fire you opened your heart, and gave me ice Glacially stoic you stood there time had left you barren, the glare even in your eyes gave evidence of the depth its grasp has had Frozen in this moment, as if winds had dropped you stunned like a flightless bird I cupped you in my hand releasing my fire for life into your still body the chill entered into my skin as the flames licked your wounds you began to melt the water and fire mixed producing a thick cloud of steam Oxygen and hydrogen, splitting currents of air again began to lift the feathertips of desire the hydrogen increasing the flame as I consumed it through nostrils flared by the fragrance of daffodils and lilacs, the perfume at first obscure due to the frost in the waters that dripped from your cheeks I saw my road to nirvana the droplets cascading down your neck, between your breasts to where your heart still yearned for warmth I touched your lips with my finger, they parted I lightly touched my mouth to yours, my tongue, like a flame danced the result was instantaneous as the pulsation within your chest flushed the remaining chill from deep within you the chemistry was there, the carbon, oxygen, hydrogen our skin glowed like neon, as we both began to burn May 19, 2001 © Copyright 2001 1st Poet Inc.
