Fairy
By 1stpoet
Fairy I see fairies dancing In the darkness just beyond twilight Their reflections dance among the star ripples in the water As I venture towards sleep by the fire Gossamer wings with lace tracings Carry them aloft Through the tree branches And trails of stardust fall upon me, their gift Magically I am taken By the soft beating of their wings The spell causing my heart to take flight Balanced on the edge of a dream This dream spell, causing moonflight I am taken to where you reside For your breath of love is Like a pool of light Awakening in slumber A half-real state I feel the moon mist fall upon me As I fly on the wings of a fey being I have been transformed to their kind By a touch so soft It only comes from the heart Of those who are free Free to see the serenity of life With wisps of wing beats Carrying this star stream To those who yet believe I do not wish to become mortal again I take my wings with pure abandon And fly off Into contented night dreams In daylight your breath of love Gives my wings lift So that I am not trapped in the spell to which they are bound And I can carry you aloft William Dawes June 18, 2000 copyright Written June 18th, 2000 © on Dec 25 2001 06:36 AM PST 0 • 12
