Forest Morn Charcoal shadows smudged across a watercolor sunrise dawn slowly creeps, and rain-cloud remnants dance Morning mist moves magically as night seems to end tragically the last billows shed a tear unto the forest I turn my ear Crickets and tree frogs cease their song to the day they don’t belong above, a lone Blue Jay sings his welcome to the day Calling from this tall oak tree he stays hidden mystically my eyes strain in mere twilight my ears capture this delight As rays of gold crest, shadows fade daylight comes across the glade a proud Buck stands in majesty amongst the forest tapestry Wildflowers swaying in subtle breeze I have seen forest through the trees to have this experience is such bliss having tasted the lips of Nature’s Kiss William Dawes October 2000 Written October 2nd, 2000 © on Dec 16 2001 01:01 PM PST 0 • 10
