I am your muse Forget me tonight as I leave Do not let my memory linger long For I am just a muse Hoping to touch your inner thoughts momentarily I only want a moment to enchant you To stir a desire to once again turn to the page you have forgotten And to allow you again to create your works I am an imaginary figure, who has taken on this shape For if I were to come to you in a song Would it be any less potent Like an intoxicating fermentation, my effervescence enters And I take complete control, but you are unaware That it is I who holds you captive in this moment I will leave you soon, yet will always be in you For my fingers go deep and are not Easily removed My only love is you, and what you sing With the music I give you, And your own memories combined You will soon again be strong Captivation of the song you long to sing will be a reality And I will still be here, yet forgotten.
