I Thought They were Stars
By 1stpoet
I Thought They were Stars I looked out my window across the frozen lake saw the glimmers in the ice and took them to be reflections fallen snowflakes of light from the heavens stars that twinkled in the moonlight coming down to me I walked out onto my balcony reached out my hand and felt the chill turn to droplets as these stars died with my touch each particle wished upon solemn tears that were frozen in space now captured by mortal man I cupped my hand raised it to my mouth and tasted moon milk, and the spun honey of comets the stars were brighter tonight as I walked back inside climbed into bed and found myself no longer thirsting. © Copyright 2002 1st Poet Inc.
