MY SALVATION I have tasted the tears you shed While the thorns were placed upon your head I tasted your blood represented by wine You gave your life to save mine I ate of your body, when I took the bread And I remember the words While dying you said Unto your Father you said a prayer You thought of me, Even though I was not there My sins were carried off into the air You died for My Salvation I sit and wonder as I write this verse How with such love you could disperse A gift that all must come to know If to see the Father they wish to go For it is written in Holy Text That after this life-where we go next Is based on our Faith, our Works, and Love And on the Gift from God above The Gift of His Son; for those on earth E’n though a King, a simple birth William Dawes 12/25/1999 Written December 25th, 1999 © on Dec 25 2001 12:06 AM PST   18 • 0 • 13
