NEO-NATE (please read author comments first) If not for the miracles of modern medicine there was little hope of holding my child again when he was born there was a hole in his heart that in itself almost tore me apart He came into the world three months before his time was there hope he would live to his prime? With tubes and wires hooked up to his frame my cheeks became flushed tears to my eyes came now thirteen years after his birth I realize the miracles, and what they were worth a child so fragile, he fit in my hand is now vibrant and strong, a handsome young man. © Copyright 2002 1st Poet Inc.
