Nine-One-One at the 7-11
By 1stpoet
9-1-1 at the 7-11 Through darkness flashed blue and red past my house, quickly he sped through the silence the sirens did wail was someone soon going to jail Is there an accident, a loss of life perhaps a husband beating his wife maybe even a cat in a tree I got in my car to go see He turned left, and then went right across town quickly in the middle of the night I thought perchance someone was shot until he pulled into the parking lot he ran rapidly up to the door then made his way to the back of the store with his hands he grabbed a donut, glazed my jaw dropped, I was amazed nine-one-one should have been called at his reckless abandon I was appalled into the air he fired a warning shot and said "Don't bother me son, my coffee is hot" Next time you need that man in blue here is all you need to do Stop at Seven-Eleven for a candy bar for by the curb will be his car.
