Nursing a Cold
By 1stpoet
Nursing a Cold Sitting here sipping tea with lemon and whiskey a touch of honey bitter-sweet swallowing…..to soothe an aching throat Life can be a virus giving us pain and masking true images of who we are there comes a time when honey does not coat and cover the raw realities around us no love can be sweet enough not even thinking of the garden that it came from sour is the flavor of regret wishing one would have made other choices moved on quicker and not been stuck squeezing the last drops of time only to be left as a shell drunken one can be when all around is bliss tasting the oaky-richness of a true kiss meant to stay forever sometimes I feel my best when I seem to be at my worst. © Copyright 2002 1st Poet Inc.
