Ode To My Muse
By 1stpoet
Ode to My Muse You give me a word or a thought, feeling, fragrance Perhaps a color or a name: and expect me to create from it. I, a meager poet otherwise paralyzed, Your commands move me to life again You say "LOVE," only love and I must go from there. Is it lost love, new love, or a love of myself...I am lost! You oh Muse, Powerful and All-knowing show me the color of ink, Blue and "Lost love" is the answer I write not one line, but words flow no effort goes un-rewarded the page soon fills I smell the memory of the fragrance she wore on Your breath, and tears dot my page Your fingerprints carry and swirl words into structure readers: Detectives see these and study Touched they are by your Grasp on my creation And I humble, Owe all to you Thank you, Oh Muse You are my love My new Love My only!!
