Orchid
By 1stpoet
Orchid I long to taste the sweet dew from the petals of an orchid. Begging for my entrance, nectar so sweet. Protruding bud lying just beyond open fronds Curved, open tunnel, inviting. The savored sweetness encapsulates my tongue Glistening crimson delight….a rare flower Mine alone to drink from. It feeds me with beads of euphoria as I lap them hungrily I must enter completely to feed it with my pollen So again it will open, and await me. William Dawes © Copyright 2000 1st Poet Inc.
