Prison

Prison Steel bars and iron beams No need to exercise those extremes My virtue to you is pure and strong In your prison is where I belong My hands locked in cuffs so cold Freed only when you I hold Legs shackled with heavy chain With you forever I remain My sentence extended for good behavior Solitary confinement do I savor I lay naked on a floor warmed by love Your smile is the light that hangs above Blood flows from wounds across my back Like a whip would leave, an open track Your nails have dug into my flesh Your sweat given to refresh I drink in the salty liquid eagerly Is this my “until death” penalty No release is ever within my grasp Your key only turns the clasp You open the gates, and let me in The sweet interrogation does begin Torturing me to hear what I may say My body defenseless, I am your prey My prison lies within your heart Never free even when apart For I always bear signs of luscious pain Etched so deeply in my brain Yes I may be a dead man walking But of you I am always talking For no captive has been so free I die, yet live eternally William Dawes July 2000 Written July 7th, 2000 © on Dec 17 2001 08:23 AM PST 0 • 8
